Catherine Treadgold

After graduating cum laude from Princeton University, Catherine Treadgold began her career in New York City, where she performed frequently in operas and musicals, joined Actors’ Equity and became a certified stage fighter. In 1990 she returned to her home town of Seattle to earn a Master of Music from the University of Washington. 

Career Highlights include the title role in the Mystery of Edwin Drood, several seasons with Northwest Opera in Schools, Etc. (NOISE), lecturer and soloist for Seattle Opera previews, and seven concerts with Musical Experiences. Catherine is slated to perform Schumann’s song cycle Frauenliebe und leben in Musical Experiences’ 2009-2010 season.

Favorite opera roles include Maddalena in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Giulio Cesare in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, and Florence Pike in Britten’s Albert Herring.

Although featured most frequently as half of Cat & Jeff, Catherine also performs in Ladies Musical Club concerts and with the Operatic Four Players. She is available for recitals and variety shows of musical theater, art songs, and opera as a soloist or in combination with her fellow singers.
